Setzer Family

The Setzer family is of German origin and came to America on Ship "Brothers", with Capt. Willim Muir, from Rotterdam. George Tobias Setzer landed at Philadelphia, PA., September 14, 1751. Michael Setzer and Jacob Setzer, age 21, were on Ship Brothers and landed in America, September 26, 1753. Reference for this is Penn German Pioneers by Strassburger and Hinke, Vol. 1, pages 551, 553, and 554 and also Rupps Thirty Thousand Immigrant page 312. This drawing is on file with the Library of Australia. Ship "Brothers" was decommissioned in Australia

I plan on taking a trip down to Va this summer to do more hands on research of my grandmothers side of the family. They are all from South Hampton, Va. I hope this will prove worth the trip! I will try to keep up on my post with my findings. I have been very busy lately so I have not been able to put much time into my research.
